10-12  Music Technology Apps & Sites for STEM/STEAM

Presented by Mr. Matt Mazur of Turtle Dance Music, LLC and AutismFriendlyShows.com
Are you interested in finding out about exciting music technology apps and websites that your library patrons can use for STEM/STEAM learning opportunities? "Mr. Matt" Mazur is the director of Turtle Dance Music, LLC and AutismFriendlyShows.com, as well as a music teacher for adults and children with learning disabilities. He’ll demonstrate and share incredible new apps & websites for making music with your library patrons! This will be a hands-on demo with fun & exciting music making challenges. Please feel free to bring your own iPad, iPhone, laptop, tablet-device, silliness and "Yes, and . . ." mindset. The goal of the presentation will be to empower all librarians to empower their patrons with technology - especially librarians who do not identify as “tech savvy.” A Q & A will be at the end of the presentation.

1:30-3  Do(n’t) Panic! Escape Rooms at the Library with Marissa Bucci and Nicole Scherer
Escape or Locked Room games are popping up everywhere. This phenomenon presents an interesting opportunity for libraries, which have long been creating and implementing live action games to surprise their communities with something unexpected, reach out to new users, and revitalize their image. Learn about this global trend and discover ways to stage an Escape Room with the resources you have. Marissa Bucci is currently the Youth Services Librarian at the Ferguson Library and Nicole Scherer is the Outreach Specialist for Nassau Library System (Long Island, NY).
