Steven Bernstein is an Assistant Catalog Librarian at Central Connecticut State University.  He will be giving an overview of XML; how it works, and why it may be the future of library metadata.

10:30-12:30 Presentation by Erin Stalberg

Erin Stalberg is currently the Director of Discovery and Access at Mount Holyoke College, where she leads Library, Information, and Technology Services’ staff in Access Services, Discovery Services, and Archives & Special Collections. Erin is going to speak about the various non-MARC schemas that are being used today and the need for something to come next.  She is also going to give a brief overview about her role implementing RDA in a MARC environment at North Carolina State University where she was Head of Metadata & Cataloging from 2007-2011.
