6:00PM-7:30 PM

VIA ZOOM

Registration Opens November 1 HERE.

Are you an aspiring author?  Whether you are just starting out or trying to grow your knowledge of the writing process and your network, we can help. Join us for a 6 hour, four-part workshop led by award-winning author, Nora Raleigh Baskin.
About the Creative Writing Workshop:
Writing is hard. It takes guts and trust and a little craziness, because most writers are terrified to share their work. They should be. That’s when you know you are writing something meaningful, when you’ve exposed yourself and let other people see inside. And yeah, that’s scary.
We start with ninety minutes, once a week, for four weeks.
The first week begins with a trigger word and then ten-minute writing time.  The second brave step?  Reading your work out loud.
The second week, we respond to the readings— not critique them.
What is resonating? What did you feel from that work? Was there a word, a phrase, an image that spoke to you? What did you take away? How were you moved?
There is a magic about this workshop that is hard to put into words. Come and try. You'll find out for yourself.
This will be a 4-week program running December 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 6-7:30 PM. Cost for the entire program will be $100.00 for CLA members and $125.00 for Non-members. Registration will open on November 1 at ctlibraryassociation.orgClass size is limited and each participant is expected to commit to the entire workshop series. Each session will build on the one before, so participants are asked to commit to the entire series.

This program is a fundraiser for the Connecticut Library Assocation. All portions of your fee goes back to CLA. Thank you for your support. We thank Nora Raleigh Baskin for donating her time and expertise for this fundraiser.
